Seek Your Course...
Jumpstart Creativity...
Last night I went to an awesome event hosted by Jess Greene of Seek Your Course.... she's doing a tour where she's hosting art nights in 50 cities around the USA and CANADA...the goal being to inspire everyday people to make creativity a part of their daily life. Click here to see if she's coming to a town/city near you.
My husband, mom and I met up with two of our other friends for the evening of unleashing our creativity :). The event was hosted at the Teahouse Studio (which, I LOVE! And if you live in the Bay Area you should definitely look into their calendar of amazing workshops they hold!). Jess started out the evening with a warm welcome and insight on her hopes and intentions with the Jumpstart Creativity Tour...
Organized by Seek Your Course, the tour will be stopping at major cities in the USA and Canada to rally support for creative engagement and get adults making stuff. Most people do not have jobs that involve making art, building things by hand, or writing creatively. They need opportunities to fulfill that part of themselves. Seek Your Courserepresents a wide-range of creative opportunities and through the Jumpstart Creativity Tour we hope to further connect adults with those opportunities.June-September I will be driving around the country in the Mobile Creativity Unit (aka my car) and running events open to anyone who wants to play with paint, write some prose, or experiment with mixed media. We believe that the creative community has the power to create change in the world just as it did in my life and in countless other lives. The Jumpstart Creativity Tour is the beginning of the ways that Seek Your Course is getting the message out and making creative engagement a common modern experience.
...and then we began to CREATE.
One of Jess's goals was to introduce people to all sorts of different mediums of art...we had paints, stamps, paper, pencils, markers, ink's, old school typewriters.....all sorts of cool things.
Best of all it was great meeting Jess....she's one of my Hello Soul, Hello Business Classmates.....and one one of many that is doing some inspiring things!
Happy Artists = Happy People.
