PSA: Vote...like your life depends on it.
More Important Than Ever
I don't talk politics on my platform often, but then again, I've never lived in such a state of external chaos. In his 2020 Prediction, an astrologer I follow said , "this year we will be at the height of adharma (untruths)", people will lie, mislead and cheat to the point of confusion. I'd say that's a pretty accurate description of where we're at now...and have been for a while.
Last night at the Democratic National Convention, I found much comfort, hope, honesty and sanity in Michelle Obama's words. Something I miss greatly these days. And from the amount of republics speaking and attending the DNC Convention, it's clear this is something many miss as well. So, as a pubic service announcement (PSA), I want to pass on the importance of voting this year. We are living in defining moment in history and therefore standing on the sidelines is not where I want to be. Below are pieces from Michelle Obama's speech that I wanted to be sure to pass on. Of course, if you're interested, you can catch her entire speech in the above video link or you can read her full speech here.
Vote like your life depends on it
"So if you take one thing from my words tonight, it is this: if you think things cannot possibly get worse, trust me, they can; and they will if we don't make a change in this election. If we have any hope of ending this chaos, we have got to vote for Joe Biden like our lives depend on it." - Michelle Obama
"We've got to vote early, in person if we can. We've got to request our mail-in ballots right now, tonight, and send them back immediately and follow-up to make sure they're received. And then, make sure our friends and families do the same. We have got to grab our comfortable shoes, put on our masks, pack a brown bag dinner and maybe breakfast too, because we've got to be willing to stand in line all night if we have to." -Michelle Obama
"It is up to us to add our voices and our votes to the course of history, echoing heroes like John Lewis who said, "When you see something that is not right, you must say something. You must do something." -Michelle Obama
