home SWEET home.

home SWEET home...

This past weekend my husband and I drove up to Sacramento for the annual Curtis Park Home and Garden Tour fundraiser that is put on by the Sierra 2 Community Center. Curtis Park is a really cute little historical area in Sacramento where all the houses are over 100 years old and are built around this great park....for the fundraiser, the community center gets 7-8 residents to open up their homes and gardens for a tour...there were about 300 people that came out to support them. It really turned out to be a fun day. All the people we met were really nice, all houses and gardens were gorgeous...and best of all there were so many people outside...walking, sitting on porches, riding bikes, just plain hanging out....and there were so many things in bloom!Really an awesome day! Below are a few of my favorites pics from the day...

Love these copper countertops and seamless sink...I've never seen anything like it!

Wouldn't it be awesome to have an outdoor kitchen like this?

And have this great patio furniture to go along with it...I think I'd move outside during the summer months :).

All of the houses had some kind of built-in shelves and cabinet's...they were all really amazing...

And most of the houses had lead paned windows...inside and out...really a beautiful feature.

All the streets were lined with huge trees- and I mean HUGE!...Best of all, in some places they built the street around the tree, rather than cutting it down...isn't that awesome?

This breakfast nook was so cute...LOVED it!

I LOVE porches....the kind that are perfect for a hot, lay summer afternoon where you can sip some fresh lemonade and be in the company of some friends...these chairs were so comfy!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVED this tin back splash! I'd never seen such a thing...

but definitely want to add it to my "dream house" list.

This bathroom was so classy and fresh feeling...

the color of the walls with the little chandeliers in the bathroom for sconces were so really special!

And that was our day...if you're a bay area resident and enjoy home and garden things...

then I would definitely keep a look out for this event next year...we saw a lot of really cool things...

definitely tucking them all away for when we buy our first home!

Have a good day!
